What Is the Difference Between RGB, RGBW and RGBCCT LED Strip?
RGB strip provides color-changing output through red, green and blue channels. RGBW adds a dedicated white channel when projects require a defined white-light output in addition to color. RGBCCT adds separate warm-white and cool-white channels, allowing the white-light CCT to be adjusted within the range supported by the selected model.
RGB LED
Relies on 3 channels: Red, Green, and Blue. By mixing these three primary colors, our Vietnam factory OEM/ODM RGB LED modules can produce a wide spectrum of colors. However, creating a pure, high-CRI white light is challenging using only RGB.
RGBW
Engineered with an independent White channel (4-channel RGBW). Our Vietnam factory OEM/ODM RGBW LED strips deliver dynamic RGB colors alongside pure 3000K/6000K white.
RGBTW / RGBCCT

How Should Buyers Choose Between Integrated SMD, Separated SMD and COB RGBX LED Strip?
After selecting RGB, RGBW or RGBCCT, buyers should compare the LED construction according to the fixture dimensions, visible light-point requirement, diffuser depth, white-light requirement and electrical load.
Integrated SMD
Multiple color channels are integrated within one LED package, providing a compact arrangement for multi-channel LED strip designs.
- Fixture space or PCB width is limited
- Closer spatial mixing between color channels is preferred
- An integrated RGB, RGBW or RGBCCT package is required

Separated SMD

Which Controllers Work With RGB, RGBW and RGBCCT LED Strips?
Xmart’s non-addressable RGBX series requires a compatible constant-voltage, multi-channel controller. RGB normally requires three controlled channels, RGBW requires four and RGBCCT requires five. DMX, DALI or RF integration is achieved through a compatible controller or decoder rather than through the LED strip alone.

Always use appropriate gauge wire (typically 18AWG or thicker for long runs) and ensure your power supply and controller are rated for the total wattage of all channels combined.
