LED Driver for Reliable
Strip Light Power
From non-dimmable power supplies to mainstream dimming and control solutions, explore practical driver options for real strip light applications.
Supported Driver Types for Different Control Needs
Xmart strip lights can work with mainstream driver and dimming systems depending on the application and control logic.
Triac / Phase-cut Dimmable
Traditional wall-dimmer compatible solutions for straightforward retrofits.
0/1-10V Dimmable
Standard analog control logic for commercial and office lighting systems.
DALI-2 & Push-Dim
Advanced digital addressable lighting interface for precise, scalable control.
DMX512 Dimmable
Dynamic protocol ideal for complex RGB/RGBW architectural and stage lighting.
Wireless (Bluetooth/ZigBee/Wi-Fi)
Modern smart lighting integrations for app and voice-controlled environments.
Non-Dimmable
Reliable, constant voltage power supplies for standard on/off applications.
How to Choose the Right Driver by Control Requirement
Simple On/Off Projects
Recommend: Non-Dimmable
For basic illumination where dimming is not required. Offers the highest stability and cost-effectiveness for general strip light installations.
Wall-Dimmer Applications
Recommend: Triac / Phase-cut
Ideal for residential or hospitality retrofits using existing AC wall dimmers. No extra control wiring needed.
Commercial Control Systems
Recommend: 0/1-10V or DALI-2
Best for office buildings and large commercial spaces requiring centralized, smooth, and scalable dimming networks.
Dynamic or Smart Lighting
Recommend: DMX512 or Wireless
Required for pixel control, RGB color changing, architectural facades, or smart home (ZigBee/Wi-Fi) integrations.

How to Choose the Right Power Supply Wattage
Calculate your total strip wattage first, then apply the industry-standard 80% load rule to select the most suitable power supply for stable, safe, and long-lasting operation.
Calculate Total Strip Wattage
Total Wattage = Length × W/m
Determine the base power requirement by multiplying the total length of your LED strip by its rated wattage per meter.
Apply the 80% Load Rule
Recommended = Total ÷ 0.8
To ensure safety and longevity, the power supply's continuous load must be kept at or below 80% of its maximum rated capacity.
Choose Suitable Driver Size
Select Standard Size > Recommended
Round up your calculated result to the nearest standard power supply wattage available in our product series. Do not select an exact match.
Master Calculation Formula
It is highly recommended to control the power load within 80% to achieve better stability, optimal thermal management, and maximize the lifespan of your installation.
Why the 80% Load Rule Matters
In professional lighting installations, running a power supply at 100% capacity continuously is not recommended. The 20% buffer serves several critical technical purposes.
Prevent Overload
Protects the driver from sudden power spikes and prevents premature component failure.
Thermal Management
Significantly reduces heat generation, keeping internal electronics within safe operating temperatures.
Long-term Stability
Reduces stress on capacitors and transformers, extending the lifespan of the entire lighting system.
Voltage Margin
Provides necessary headroom to absorb minor AC input voltage fluctuations and installation losses.
