24V LED Strip Voltage Drop Test:
What Changes Across 5 Meters?
Xmart compared three anonymized 24V LED strip configurations over a 5m test length. Voltage was recorded at one-meter intervals after the electrical load stabilized. Under the internal reports’ 5% electrical voltage-drop criterion, Configuration A remained within the limit at the tested 5m point; Configurations B and C exceeded it before 5m. These results describe the tested samples and setup—not universal maximum-run ratings.
What Was Measured?
Notice: The reports record electrical voltage, not measured illuminance, lumens or color shift. The precise supply and probe locations must be confirmed by QC before this page is published.
Did Each Configuration Stay Within the Test’s 5% Limit?
| Configuration | Recorded power | Voltage at 5m | Drop at 5m | Report assessment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Configuration A | 24.66 W | 23.01 V | 4.12% | Within the test criterion |
| Configuration B | 44.68 W | 22.19 V | 7.54% | Above the test criterion |
| Configuration C | 58.60 W | 21.60 V | 10.00% | Above the test criterion |
At the measured one-meter intervals, A was within the report’s 5% limit through 5m, B through 2m, and C through 1m. These are the farthest measured points within that specific criterion—not certified maximum installation lengths.
How Did Voltage Change from 1m to 5m?
| Distance | Configuration A | Configuration B | Configuration C |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1m | 23.63 V / 1.54% | 23.13 V / 3.63% | 23.07 V / 3.88% |
| 2m | 23.36 V / 2.67% | 22.81 V / 4.96% | 22.42 V / 6.58% |
| 3m | 23.16 V / 3.50% | 22.47 V / 6.38% | 21.95 V / 8.54% |
| 4m | 23.04 V / 4.00% | 22.27 V / 7.21% | 21.69 V / 9.62% |
| 5m | 23.01 V / 4.12% | 22.19 V / 7.54% | 21.60 V / 10.00% |

What Should an OEM Buyer Do With These Results?
A 5m reel length does not, by itself, establish a 5m electrical run from a single feed. In this test, the three configurations produced different voltage profiles along the measured length. If a project requires a higher-load configuration over a longer illuminated run, the buyer should review available feed points, the driver-to-strip cable and the complete wiring arrangement, then test that proposed setup.
Adding a larger power supply must not be assumed to correct voltage drop across the entire circuit. Additional feeds or a revised layout may help, but those alternatives were not measured in these reports and require their own verification.
Buyer Input Checklist
- Required illuminated length
- Available power-feed locations
- Driver and controller arrangement
- Driver-to-strip cable length and conductor size
- Required light output and visual-uniformity criteria
What Do These Test Results Not Prove?
They do not represent every production batch; one sample per configuration is shown.
They do not measure brightness-loss percentage, illuminance or lumen uniformity.
They do not validate a different cable, driver, feed arrangement or installed environment.
They do not establish certification coverage, country of origin or a universal maximum run length.
A 10% electrical voltage drop does not mean the light output fell by 10%; light output was not quantified in these reports.
