What Are RGBX Color Changing LED Strips?
"RGBX" is an umbrella term for multi-channel LED strips. Depending on the specific application requirements for color mixing and white light quality, different channel configurations are utilized.
RGB LED
Relies on 3 channels: Red, Green, and Blue. By mixing these three primary colors, our Vietnam factory OEM/ODM RGB LED modules can produce a wide spectrum of colors. However, creating a pure, high-CRI white light is challenging using only RGB.
RGBW
Engineered with an independent White channel (4-channel RGBW). Our Vietnam factory OEM/ODM RGBW LED strips deliver dynamic RGB colors alongside pure 3000K/6000K white.

Proper wiring is crucial for multi-channel strips to prevent voltage drop and ensure accurate color mixing across long runs. Always use appropriate gauge wire (typically 18AWG or thicker for long runs) and ensure your power supply and controller are rated for the total wattage of all channels combined. For runs exceeding 5 meters (12V) or 10 meters (24V), parallel wiring or signal amplifiers are required.

Common Failures for RGBX & Troubleshooting
This is caused by voltage drop. The blue and green channels typically require slightly higher forward voltage than red. At the end of a long run, voltage drops, causing blue/green to dim faster than red, resulting in a color shift (often looking pinkish/yellowish). Solution: Inject power at both ends or use 24V/48V systems.
Check the wiring connections between the controller and the strip. A loose wire on the R, G, B, W, or CCT terminal will cause that entire channel to fail. Also, ensure the controller output port is not damaged.
Usually caused by an underpowered or low-quality power supply, or a controller with a low PWM frequency. Ensure the power supply has at least 20% headroom above the total strip wattage, and use controllers with high-frequency PWM (>2000Hz) for smooth, flicker-free dimming.
